Taxonomic Notes: |
Aethes deutschiana (Zetterstedt, 1840) is listed as extralimital (Palearctic) with specimens from the US and southern Canada, previously treated as A. deutschiana, regarded as one or more cryptic species in Gilligan et al. (2020), Insects, 11(9), 594: 1-59. But specimens from northern Canada have DNA barcodes matching those of A. deutschiana from Europe so we continue to treat this species as Holarctic. |
