British Columbia to southern California, eastward to central Saskatchewan, southwestern Idaho and western Nevada, from ~ 500-7,400 ft. elev..
Seasonality
and Size:
Mid-August - late November. FWL ~ 17-26 mm.
Larva and
Host Plants:
Many known host plants include Alnus, Betula, Cornus, Populus, Ribes, Alder, Picea.
Genitalia: See Ferris & Schmidt (2010).
Similar Species:
  • Separate from T. mosesiana in California coastal counties by genitalia and DNA. Elsewhere the absence of pale shading beyond the pm. line distinguishes this species from T. pallulata.

Taxonomic Notes: Tetracis jubararia Hulst, 1886, n. comb. in Ferris & Schmidt (2010), was formerly in the genus Synaxis.
