Welcome to MPG's species of concern to North American agriculture. Currently, this list contains 75 taxa, many of which are on the Cooperative Agricultural Pest Survey (CAPS) "Priority Pest List". They were chosen because they are not yet established in the United States or are of limited distribution in North America. The purpose of this site is to provide images and resources for the identification of the listed species which are usually identified by dissection of genitalia. Each species page also includes references, including Screening Aids and Approved Methods for identification and recent literature on the status of the species. Because of the quarantine significance of these species, identifications need to be confirmed by experts and voucher specimens need to be collected.

To get further information on these pests or to report a suspect pest that might be one of these species, consult the Domestic Survey Coordinator if you are part of the CAPS program, or your Local Extension Office if you are not.
