Subtribe Athetiina. This tribe was proposed by Fibiger and Lafontaine (2005). We have modified the name of the tribe from Athetina to Athetiina by dropping only the s from the generic name Athetis Hübner [1821] in order to avoid homonomy with Athetina in the Coleoptera: Staphylinidae, based on Atheta Thompson, 1858.
