Subfamily Condicinae. Classification follows Poole (1995). Beck (1996, 1999-2000) has used the family group name Placodina Guenée, 1852 for the genus Eucarta Lederer, which is closely related to Leuconycta Hampson, the type species of Leuconyctini Poole, 1995. However, the genus Placodes Boisuval, 1840 is a junior homonym of Placodes Erichson, 1834 in the Coleoptera, and a family group name based on a junior homonym is unavailable.
