Subfamily Cydosiinae. Treated as a tribe of the Bagisarinae by Fibiger and Lafontaine (2005). The larvae, illustrated from Costa Rica by Janzen and Hallwachs (http://janzen.sas.upenn.edu/caterpillars/database.lasso) are not at all like those of the Bagisarinae, but have long rod-like SD setae on A 1-3 and five pairs of prolegs. They are treated here as the subfamily Cydosiinae, stat. n. until the phylogenetic associations of the genus are determined.
