Acronicta increta. The taxonomy of this species and its relatives is in need of research involving rearings, host plant associations, and larval characters. Also, the location and identity of some type specimens are uncertain. The sequence of species in this complex (A. albarufa to A. retardata) follows that of Forbes (1954).
