Afrida exegens. Kitching and Rawlins [1998] placed Afrida in the Nolidae. It had previously been included in the Arctiinae: Lithosiini (Franclemont 1983). Afrida exegens was retained in the Arctiinae by Ferguson and Opler (2006) and Schmidt and Opler (2008) due to its uncertain generic affinity. DNA barcode data and morphology clearly place exegens near Afrida (sensu stricto) within the Nolinae.
