Pheosia portlandia. This taxon was previously treated as a distinct species, replacing P. rimosa in Pacific coastal forests. DNA barcode haplotypes of Washington and British Columbia P. portlandia are entirely or nearly identical to typical P. rimosa from B.C. and Alberta, and there are no differences in genitalic structure. Intermediate phenotypes occur across a large geographic area from central British Columbia to central Washington. We therefore treat P. portlandia, syn. n, as a coastal forest ecophenotype of P. rimosa.
