I thank John Glaser, of Baltimore, MD, for the photograph from his statewide collection demonstrating the variation that might be encountered in Maryland within this species. My "immaculate" specimen turned out to be rather uncommon, and I could not find a photo or illustration anywhere that approximated what I had. A note in John's unpublished mss. about this variation led me to ask him to confirm my speculation that I indeed did have this species. His photo came with the email reply. Extremes of form are found in the same localities and appear not to be geographically or ecologically distributed.
